Have you ever had that one person who just gets it? Someone whose advice sticks with you long after your conversation ends? Finding a true mentor feels like striking gold in a world full of quick opinions and surface-level relationships. When life throws its curveballs, these rare guides help us see things from God's viewpoint instead of getting lost in the chaos. They're the ones whose words echo in our minds when we face tough choices.
Today, let's talk about actively seeking out these wisdom-keepers in our lives. Not just friends but true mentors who walk the path of faith with steady steps. Their faithful living becomes a map for our own journey. When we spend time with someone who consistently chooses God's way, it changes us. Their courage becomes our courage. Their patience teaches us patience. Who's that person for you right now? If you can't think of someone, don't worry! God loves connecting His people. As we pray together, let's ask Him to bring the right mentors into our lives and show us how to learn from their faithful example.
Let's Pray
Heavenly Father,
I come to You today grateful for Your presence in my life. Thank You for being the wisest guide I could ever have.
Lord, Your Word tells me that walking with the wise helps me grow in wisdom too. I want to choose my companions carefully. Help me recognize the people You've placed in my path to mentor me, especially those whose faith shines through their daily lives.
Sometimes I struggle to find these relationships. Other times, I don't listen to the godly advice I receive. Forgive me when I've ignored wisdom and chosen easier paths with less helpful companions.
Thank You for the faithful friends and mentors You've already placed in my life. I'm grateful for how they reflect Your character and help me see things from Your perspective.
Please guide me toward relationships that bring me closer to You. Give me courage to step away from connections that lead me into trouble or pull me from Your ways. Help me become someone who offers wisdom and faithful living to others too.
I ask for discernment to recognize Your wisdom, even when it comes through unexpected people or challenges my comfortable thinking.
I trust that You will continue to surround me with the right people at the right time. In Jesus' name, I pray with confidence that You are working in my relationships for my good and Your glory.
Amen.
Journaling Prompts
How might your daily choices look different if you spent more time with people who actively seek God's wisdom?
In what ways could God be calling you to be a mentor or wise friend to someone else right now?
What kinds of people or relationships might be holding you back from growing closer to God? How can you create healthy boundaries?
If you could ask God to develop one wisdom-related quality in you through your relationships, what would it be and why?
Isn't it amazing how someone's presence in our lives can change everything? The coffee friend who asks the right questions, the older believer who's weathered storms we haven't faced yet - these connections aren't accidents. This week, just notice who makes you feel closer to God and who leaves you feeling drained. The quiet nudges we feel toward certain people might be God's way of surrounding us with exactly who we need. Until next time, we're right here walking alongside you, figuring out this faith journey one relationship at a time.
May the Lord Bless you and keep you;
May He make His face shine upon you;
And be gracious to you and give you peace
God Bless!
