Money matters can feel heavy on our hearts sometimes. We worry about having enough, spending wisely, and planning for tomorrow. The truth is, how we handle our resources says a lot about our trust in God. Today, we'll look at Jesus' teaching about using what we've been given. The Parable of the Bags of Gold helps us see that God cares about how we use His gifts. As we pray together, we'll ask for wisdom to be good caretakers of everything in our lives—not just money but our time, talents, and treasures, too.
Short Devotional
Jesus told a parable about three servants who received different amounts of money from their master. Two of them put their money to good use and doubled what they had, and the master was happy with them. But one servant was afraid and just buried his money in the ground. When the master returned, he was upset that this servant did nothing with what he was given. The master expected all his servants to use their gifts wisely, no matter how much or how little they had.
This story makes us think about what we're doing with everything God has given us. Are we putting our money, time, and talents to good use? Or are we hiding them away because we're scared or unsure? God doesn't compare us to others—He looks at what we do with what we have. When we use our gifts well, God promises to trust us with even more, just like in our Bible verse: "For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance."

Let's Pray
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being with me right now. I know you see me and care about every part of my life. Thank you for trusting me with so many good things—my money, my time, my abilities, and all the opportunities you've given me.
Lord, I want to be like the faithful servants in Jesus' parable who used what they were given and made it grow. Give me wisdom to make good choices with my talent. Show me how to be generous without being foolish and careful without being fearful.
I confess that sometimes I hide what you've given me because I'm afraid of making mistakes. Forgive me when I don't trust you enough to step out in faith. Help me remember that you don't expect me to be perfect—you just want me to be faithful with what I have.
Thank you for your promise that when I use my gifts well, you will trust me with more. Help me see that true wealth isn't about how much money I have, but about using whatever I have in ways that honor you.
I want to be someone who hears you say, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Give me courage to take risks when you call me to, and wisdom to know when to save and when to give. In all things, help me trust you more than I trust my bank account.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Journaling Prompts
What gifts, talents, or resources has God given me that I might be "burying" instead of using? Why do I hold back?
When have I seen God provide for me in unexpected ways? How did that change my view of who He is?
How can I be more intentional about growing what God has given me this week—whether that's money, time, relationships, or talents?
When I think about being "faithful with little," what small, consistent steps can I take to better manage what God has entrusted to me?
We all have moments when we feel unsure about how to handle our money and resources. But God doesn't ask us to be perfect—just faithful with whatever we have. This week, let's look for ways to grow what He's given us, even if it seems small. Remember that God sees our efforts and honors our faithfulness. Let's choose trust over fear when it comes to our finances. As we move forward, may we become more confident in God's provision and wiser in our stewardship. We look forward to continuing this journey of faith together in our next newsletter.
Until next time,
May the Lord Bless you and keep you;
May He make His face shine upon you;
And be gracious to you and give you peace
God Bless!
