Bible Verse
Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.
We all know that feeling - our phone buzzes with a text from a friend who needs to talk, but we tell ourselves we'll respond when things calm down. Hours turn into days, and suddenly, we realize we never hit "reply." Our connection with God can feel a lot like those unopened text messages. That soft nudge to pause and pray, that quiet invitation to sit and be still - they're like little love notes we keep meaning to open. Isaiah gets it. His words feel less like a warning and more like a friend saying, "Hey, don't miss out on this good thing happening right now.”
Short Devotional
There's this story that hits close to home - about a young man who ran up to Jesus, knelt before him, and asked what he needed to do to inherit eternal life. He had everything going for him, yet something in his heart knew he needed more. But his enthusiasm crashed into reality when Jesus looked at him with love and invited him to drop everything and follow Him. The timing wasn't right. His plans didn't include this plot twist. Sound familiar? Sometimes, the biggest moments of our lives disguise themselves as inconvenient interruptions.
Think about the notifications we respond to instantly - social media likes, breaking news, and work emails. Yet somehow, that inner whisper to spend time with God gets filed under "when I have more time" or "when I feel more spiritual." What if those everyday pauses - waiting for the coffee to brew, sitting in carpool lines, or those five minutes before falling asleep - are actually God's gentle "You free to talk?" messages?

Let's Pray
Loving Father, here I am, acknowledging that You are always near, even when I've kept my distance. Thank You for Your patient presence, waiting for me to turn my heart toward You. I confess how often I've said "later" to Your gentle invitations – postponing prayer until I feel more spiritual, delaying our time together until life feels less chaotic.
Lord, You see my excuses and how I fill my schedule with everything but You. You understand my hesitation, my fear, and sometimes even my indifference. Yet You remain faithful, your arms open wide, your invitation always fresh.
Help me recognize the cost of spiritual procrastination – the peace I forfeit, the guidance I miss, the comfort I deny myself. Give me the courage to seek You not just in crisis but in ordinary moments. Teach me to find You in early mornings and lunch breaks, in quiet cars and busy kitchens.
I want to break free from the habit of postponing our relationship—plant in me a holy urgency to respond to Your presence. Let Your Spirit nudge me past my comfort zone, beyond my excuses, and into the joy of seeking You while You may be found.
In Jesus' name, I choose today – this very moment – to answer Your call.
Thank You for always being near.
Amen.
Journaling Prompts
What excuses do I most often make for postponing time with God? Write them down and explore what lies beneath them.
If you treated your relationship with God like your most important relationship, what would change about your daily routine?
How could you transform three "waiting" moments in your day (traffic, lines, before bed) into opportunities to connect with God?
Here's the beautiful thing about God - He's not counting our missed connections or keeping track of our spiritual rain checks. He's just waiting, coffee in hand (probably your favorite kind), ready to pick up right where we left off. This week, let's stop waiting for the perfect moment and start finding Him in the perfectly ordinary ones. Remember, even a whispered "Hey God" while folding laundry counts as quality time - He's just happy to hear your voice. And who knows? Maybe those little moments will turn into the kind of conversations that change everything.
Until next time. May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
God Bless!
