Bible Verse
Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Sometimes the hardest test of our faith comes when we open our wallets and find nothing there. When bills pile up faster than paychecks come in, it's easy to wonder if God really sees what we're going through. We might feel forgotten or worried that we've done something wrong to deserve these money troubles. But there's hope in an old story about a woman who faced the same scary situation we might be facing right now.
The Widow of Zarephath was down to her very last meal when a stranger showed up asking for food. She had just enough flour and oil to make one final piece of bread for herself and her son before they would have nothing left to eat. Most of us would have said no and kept what little we had. But this woman chose to trust God even when her bank account was empty and her future looked hopeless. Her willingness to share what she couldn't afford to give away changed everything. When we feel like we're at the end of our rope financially, we can remember that God sees us, too. What would happen if we trusted Him with our empty pockets the same way she trusted Him with her empty jar?

Let's Pray
Heavenly Father,
I come to You today knowing that You see every worry that keeps me awake at night. You know exactly how much money is in my bank account, and You know how much I need to pay my bills.
I confess that sometimes I get scared when the numbers don't add up the way I want them to. Help me remember that You are bigger than my financial problems.
Like Paul wrote, I want to learn the secret of being content whether I have plenty or whether I'm struggling to make ends meet. Teach me to trust that You will give me the strength to face whatever comes my way.
When I look at my empty wallet, help me see Your full promises instead. When I worry about tomorrow's expenses, remind me that You have provided for me every single day of my life so far.
Thank You for being my provider even when I can't see how You're going to work things out. Thank You for caring about the practical parts of my life, not just the spiritual ones.
Help me to be generous like the widow who shared her last meal, trusting that You will take care of me.
Give me the wisdom to make good choices with the money I have, and peace to rest in Your love when money feels tight.
I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength, including facing financial stress with faith instead of fear.
In Jesus' powerful name,
Amen.
Journaling Prompts
Think about a time when you had to choose between keeping something for yourself or sharing it with someone else. What influenced your decision, and how did it turn out?
If you knew for certain that God would provide everything you truly needed, how would that change the way you handle money stress today?
Imagine Jesus sitting across from you at your kitchen table while you pay bills. What do you think He would say to you about your financial worries?
Remember that your worth isn't measured by the size of your bank account or the stress in your budget. God's love for you stays the same whether you're struggling to pay rent or planning your next vacation. He promises to give you strength for whatever you're facing, including the scary parts about money. Keep holding onto His faithfulness, because He's writing a bigger story with your life than you can see right now.
Until next time,
May the Lord bless you and keep you;
May He make His face shine upon you;
And be gracious to you and give you peace
God Bless!
